Incident report

Search dogs, Megan and Zak, along with their handlers, and 26 members of Derby MRT called to search for a missing man around Carsington Water.

The 42 year old man had last been seen near Millfields car park the previous night. His vehicle was still parked there the following day causing police to become concerned for his safety, and leading to the decision to call on the team to carry out a thorough search of the area. The dogs were tasked to clear woodland and reservoir banks whilst Derby MRT members were tasked to clear other areas which included the reservoir in kayaks and a powered boat to conduct a water search.

The man was located by Derby MRT in thick woodland close to the water. He was cold and wet, but otherwise apparently unharmed. He was taken to hospital for a thorough check.
