Incident report

An Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue snatch squad was called to Higger Tor, near Hathersage, in the afternoon to assist the ambulance service.

A 50 year old female from Ironville, near Ripley, had slipped whilst walking and sustained a lower leg injury, which immobilised her.

She was treated on site by Edale team medics, which included pain relief and splintering the injured leg. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance also attended but was later tasked elsewhere. So, the lady was evacuated by stretcher across moorland. At the roadside, she was transferred into a land ambulance and taken to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, for further treatment.
