Incident report
Thursday evenings is the team’s training night and this week we were conducting a training exercise at Sparrowpit. Halfway through the evening, just as our ‘casualty’ had been loaded onto the stretcher, there was a shout from the site manager to end the exercise as a call out had come through.
Team members quickly packed all the kit away and hurriedly made their way back to the car park.
Team vehicles, operational members together with trainees then headed over to Edale to attend the call out.
A small party of walkers had become disorientated near Upper Tor on Kinder Scout and required assistance.
Using phonefind technology to locate the party, team members headed up Grindsbrook. They were guided to the walkers by a torch light held by one member of the party.
After a quick check, all of the walkers were well albeit one member of the party being slightly cold. They were then accompanied down the path back to Edale by team members.
