Incident report

At approximately 9:30 this morning, some walkers in Tansey Dale leading into Cressbrook Dale heard calls for help.

An initial search by a local Derbyshire police officer was conducted, but due to several caves and steep crags, the team was requested to assist.

Team members were asked to make their way to Litton and the temporary search control location.

Given the terrain, three search dogs were requested, two from Edale Mountain Rescue Team. Hope with handler Bart and Dottie with handler John.

Our very own search dog, Wren, with handler Andy attended their first search since grading last month, (well done!).

In addition, the team’s drone resource was deployed to conduct an aerial search of the last known location. Four sections then performed separate search patterns, covering Cressbrook Dale, Peter’s Stone, and areas around Tansey Dale.

After three hours, the decision was made to stand the team down as there was no evidence of anyone requiring assistance.

We would like to express our gratitude to the residents and visitors of Litton and offer our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
