Incident report

A group of walkers were enjoying the early spring sunshine above Deep Dale when they found themselves stranded on the steep ground above the valley. Rather than risk a slip or fall, the group decided to call out the team for assistance.

Team vehicles and members met near the village hall in King Sterndale and then made their way across fields to meet the walkers.

A rope system was established to protect both team members and the walkers whilst they were lowered to safer ground.

We hope this experience doesn’t deter the walkers from continuing to enjoy the Peak District National Park countryside.
