Incident report
People were taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather today, to get out and about and enjoy the views whilst exploring the Peak District National Park.
A small group of walkers were descending the field below Mam Nick near Mam Tor, when one of the party slipped unfortunately injuring their lower leg. Both Edale Mountain Rescue Team and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams responded to the call out and were soon on the scene to administer first aid. The injury was causing the casualty severe discomfort and strong pain relief was administered. Once the pain had reduced, the casualty was placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and sledged down the grassy slope to the Rushup Edge road to await East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The casualty’s dogs were comforted after by team member Mel, whilst the ambulance crew were assessing the casualty.
We’d like to thank passers-by that assisted the casualty before team members arrived. We’d also like to send our best wishes to the casualty for a speedy recovery.
