Incident report
The team, along with Edale Mountain Rescue Team, received a request from East Midlands Ambulance Service Saturday afternoon assist a casualty who was somewhere on the Grindslow Knoll area of Kinder Scout.
Initial information indicated that a walker had fallen and suffered a lower leg injury that prevented them from being able to walk any further. An ambulance service paramedic was quickly on scene to assess the casualty and, due to the weathe conditions on Kinder Scout at the time, a request was sent to Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR (helimed) to attend.
As members of both teams arrived at the incident site, the casualty was being placed into the helicopter. Team members waited for the helicopter to take off before returning back down the hill to clean and dry the equipment and get it ready for the next callout.
The team would like to thank a group of walkers who assisted the helimed crew to transport the casualty to the helicopter. We wish the casualty a quick recovery.
