Incident report
A mountain biker was out enjoying the warm afternoon yesterday on Mam Tor. Unfortunately the rider took a tumble in a steep downhill section and injured a leg and was unable to continue.
The Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR was initially tasked to the incident but, due to the location, Edale Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves were called to assist with transferring the casualty to the waiting aircraft. After initial treatment had been given by the aircrew, the casualty was placed on a mountain rescue stretcher for the short carry across a field and over a wall to the waiting aircraft for onward transport to hospital.
The team would like to thank the farmer for his help and assistance during the callout.
Team vehicles were then returned to base to be cleaned as per our Covid-19 guidelines and made ready for the next callout.
