Incident report
A Saturday “tea time” callout came in for assistance with an incident in Buxton.
The commanding view from Solomon’s Temple attracts many local residents, but several days of freeze-thaw and the trampling of many hundreds of walkers had made the paths very icy in parts.
Our colleagues from East Midlands Ambulance Service were treating the casualty, who had slipped walking down to the car park sustaining a painful shoulder injury, but due to the location of the fall our assistance was required to organise the evacuation.
While the paramedics were administering pain relief, a mountain rescue stretcher was prepared for the casualty, who was then transported back to the car park and the waiting ambulance.
As ever we were grateful for the support of other locals, and the ranger from Poole’s Cavern & Country Park, who were involved in the early stages of the incident helping to make the casualty comfortable.
Equipment was then cleaned in accordance with our Covid-19 protocols and placed back onto the vehicles ready for the next incident.
We wish the casualty a swift recovery from what had been a hard and painful fall.
