Incident report
While dealing with incident 90, and with snow continuing to fall heavily, the team received a request from Derbyshire Constabulary to standby to assist with stranded motorists on the main roads where necessary.
Initially two team vehicles were tasked to help but one vehicle was diverted to incident 90. The team vehicle then drove along the A54 to search for stranded motorists, but the road was found to be passable with care.
At the same time Cheshire Search and Rescue were managing the roads over the high moors on the Macclesfield side, and a request made to drive over the A537 to meet up with them. Just after setting off, a request was received to attend a casualty with an upper body injury but while en route we were updated that a district nurse had been able to get to the patient in a 4×4.
A further request was then received to assist Cheshire Police, alerting drivers to the dangers of driving over the Cat & Fiddle area.
