Incident report
The team was called to assist a lady who had slipped on a grassy slope at the Mam Nick area of Mam Tor, while walking with friends.
As is usual with mid week call outs, Edale Mountain Rescue Team was also requested to assist.
The lady’s injury was examined and a lower leg injury was diagnosed.
The lady was placed in a emergency shelter tent whilst her injury was being treated to protect her from the strong cold wind on the hillside. Pain relief was also provided before the leg was splinted and immobilised.
The lady was was then placed onto a mountain rescue stretcher, wrapped in a casualty bag and vacuum mattress and carried to the road head. She was transferred to a friend’s car for onward transport to hospital.
