Incident report
A second call out to the Roaches area in two days for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.
We received a call from West Midlands Ambulance Service Officialwmas to assist with a casualty recovery, after it was reported that a gentleman, out walking walking with friends in the Hen Cloud area had fallen and injured his ankle.
Team members were quickly on scene and, after the casualty had been given pain relief, and the injury immobilised, he was then placed on a mountain rescue stretcher. The casualty was carried down a steep wooded slope to the waiting ambulance, which was at Roaches Hall, for onward transport to hospital for further treatment.
We wish the casualty a quick recovery so he can get back to enjoy his walks.
The team would also like to thank the occupants of Roaches Hall for their hospitality in providing hot drinks and biscuits following the stretcher carry back to the ambulance; they were very much appreciated.

On behalf of all the occupants of Roaches Hall I would like to say that it was a pleasure to provide drinks and biscuits. You certainly made the family gathering more memorable than usual !!
Clearly our thoughts are with the casualty for a speedy recovery.
Finally, very impressed by the professionalism of both the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Hello Andrew, Thank you for your kind comments; the tea, coffee and biscuits were very welcome.
