Incident report
Another call out to the Roaches to assist
The team was called out to assist Staffordshire Police, Officialwmas and a Community First Responder with a fallen climber at the Roaches.
The climber had reportedly fallen about 10 metres and received what were initially thought to be serious injuries. As such the Midlands Air Ambulance was also requested to attend.
The casualty was assessed and treated before being placed on a mountain rescue stretcher. His injuries were found to be less serious than first thought but as a precaution and in view of the height he had fallen, he was placed in a vac-mat, on the stretcher and carried down to the road head where he was transferred to an ambulance for transport to hospital.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
The team would like to thank two local outdoor instructors in the area, who assisted in carrying team equipment to the casualty site.
