Swapping the Mountains for Marathons

We’re very proud of our Buxton Mountain Rescue Team Vice Chairman Kerry Clarke who successfully completed her first London Marathon last weekend in just 4 hours and 46 minutes.

In conversation with the website editor earlier this week, Kerry stated: “I’m fine, I feel alright, but my legs are little tired”. Kerry – we’re not surprised – what a fantastic achievement! Well done from all of your fellow team members and friends.

Kerry, from Sutton, has been a member of Buxton Mountain Rescue for 14 years and ran the marathon to raise funds for Dementia Revolution. Dressed as a blue fairy, she smashed her fundraising target by some margin.

It doesn’t end there. Determined to drum up more support for Dementia Revolution, Kerry and friends have organised another charity event in collaboration with an excellent creative local artist, Jennie Wren. Taking place on 7th June at the Sutton ex-serviceman’s club (courtesy of Church House) please do get involved and help Kerry to raise more money in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Thanks to all for the excellent support. We’ve raised just over £2,500 so far – so close to our target of £3,000 ???

Thank you for such amazing support from fellow team members, friends and locals. I really appreciate it. Alzheimer’s charities are very close to my heart and the Dementia Revolution team of runners and supporters have raised multiple thousands to help find a cure or methods of slowing/preventing this horrible disease. Thanks again: )
