Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called by North West Ambulance Service to rendezvous at Clough House Farm in Wildboarclough following a report of an injured walker in the Cumberland Brook area.
The casualty a 28 year old female from Grappenhall, Warrington, was descending towards the Cumberland Brook when she slipped and sustained a lower leg injury.
Sixteen team members responded to support the ambulance crew. The casualty was quickly located and treated on site by ambulance service paramedics which included pain relief and splinting. She was placed in a warm casualty bag and then lifted onto a mountain rescue stretcher. Team members then carried the casualty to the waiting land ambulance at the bottom of the hill. She was then later transferred to the Macclesfield General Hospital for further treatment.
