Incident report
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, along with neighbouring Edale MRT, were called to assist a lady and her mother reported to be injured in the vicinity of Edale.
The couple had undertaken a good day’s walk over some testing terrain but unfortunately it was on one of the latter easier sections that a simple stumble caused a fall and a broken wrist.
The initial report placed them on Grindslow Knoll but, when the GPS Sarloc system was used it determine their location, it placed them on The Knab, the opposite side of the valley from where first reported!
Team members made their way up to the incident site via the popular path towards Ringing Roger. There they assessed and splinted the lady’s injuries before evacuating her down the hill on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance in Edale village.
