Incident report
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a casualty from Chapel en le Frith.
The 74 year gentleman was recovering from a recent hip operation and was out for a short walk to aid his recuperation. Unfortunately a stumble caused him to fall on to the hip resulting in severe pain.
The ambulance crew were first on site and called for mountain rescue when it was realised that transporting the casualty back along the path was going to be a problem. Local members were quickly on scene and the man was placed on a rescue stretcher for the short carry back to the rendezvous point in Harpur Hill Industrail Estate. The gentleman was then taken to a Stockport hospital.
