Incident report
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called by East Midlands Ambulance Service to
an incident in the old quarry workings at Eldon Hill, near Sparrowpit.
A paraglider from Rotherham had landed on a ledge to the side of the main quarry face sustaining a lower leg injury. Air-ambulance paramedics were first on scene to treat the man for his injury.
Buxton Team members then carefully lifted the casualty onto a mountain rescue stretcher and carried him to the waiting helicopter for onward transit to a Sheffield hospital.
